Founded in 1975 by S.J. Huang, Chuan Phang Ent. Co. Ltd. began sales of electric winch. Originally based in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1977, started manufacture of electronic winch. With pioneering features, Chuan Phang was specialized in full production of a wide range of electric winch with lifting capacities of 80 - 5,000 kg throughout the 1980s. Chuan Phang branding quickly became the leading brand and also got a lion's share in Taiwan.
The company not only added to its product family but also equipped with the first Taiwan import of FMS flexible manufacturing system from Mori Seiki in Japan. In 1996, the company contracted with a long-standing relationship with Toyo Koken K.K. in Japan for the production of fall arrester with arresting distance from 15, 20, 25 meters each. Continuing to innovate its product range, the CWL series winch awarded the symbol of Excellence in Taiwan in 1998. To establish worldwide product distribution capabilities, in 2004 the company changed name to COMEUP Industries Inc. and opened a branch factory in Ningbo, China. Meanwhile, the company received DNV ISO9001 International Quality Certificate and also created full production of automotive winch including self-recovery winch, utility winch and trailer winch with line pull of 1,500 - 15,000 lb.
In 2001, all automotive winches had CE Marking approved. Beside, COMEUP also got the cone load-hold brake for winches patented in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Taiwan and China etc.
During 2001 to 2005, COMEUP introduced more products to the winch market and also extended his products to four main categories: Automotive, ATV/UTV, Industrial and AC Winch. COMEUP products had provided the lifting and pulling capabilities that enable industries to perform critical operation in construction, utility, energy and recovery markets. Meanwhile, COMEUP was the winches trusted by professionals. and established good relationships in OEMs cooperation with the strategy partners, ex:
- Toyo Koken K.K. in Japan for baby winch and compact winch used as a service and maintenance hoist for material handling
- Furukawa Co, Ltd in Japan for heavy duty hoist
- Superwinch Inc. in the U.S. and U.K. for automotive winch
- Planeta Hebetechnik Gmbh in Germany for compact winch used as a service and maintenance hoist for wind turbines.
In 2004, Continued the rapid expansion of its strong business, COMEUP Industries opened its second branch factory at Shanghai, China to stream of the ATV/UTV winch and automotive winch production facilities.
More and less, during 2006 to 2008, COMEUP brought several innovative new products to the market, including the electric worm gear winch and severe duty hydraulic winch of 20,000 and 30,000 lb winch for trailer/equipment markets. Meanwhile, COMEUP continued to develop OEM business with global company such as Superwinch Inc. in the U.S. for the production of ATV/UTV winch in 2007, Kymco Motor and Taiwan Golden Bee in Taiwan for ATV/UTV winch and Miller Industries in the U.S. for the production of hydraulic recovery winch in 2008.
In 2009, ATV/UTV winch receives the approval of ATV Winch according to EEC Directive 97/24/EC Chapter 8 by RDW in the Netherlands. COMEUP hydraulic recovery winch also received the first certificated stating compliance with the SAE J706 standard from TUV Rheinland in the same year. For the time being, COMEUP winches have been distributed more than 60 countries throughout 5 continents.
